Google 'Skip (s) Intro' In Its Search Engine Result Pages

Google, the biggest search engine marketing brand, has introduced a new Skip Intro in its search result pages.

The search engine marketing giant has always been working towards making the search experience more refined and simple for its users. Recently a new addition was made on the same grounds. The search engine result pages were seen to contain a new 'Skip Intro' button along with the search results. This button will help users to land on the index page directly ignoring the flash intro that few sites contain.

This seems like a good move if seen from the user end, but if the website designers were to be considered, they are actually a danger to their creation. I am sure web designers across the web were not very thrilled to see this button, since, their hard work and creativity that they include in these intros are now being ignored by the search engines. There web development strategy will have to re-mould itself once again.

Does this mean that Google does not prefer flash AT ALL! Though this seems like a good move on usability perspective, it is actually a taboo on branding. People into online advertising and branding, will now have to look for other ways in which they can work upon the branding of their website.

The Threat of Google Earth

Online Marketing News : Google Earth is gradually becoming more and more popular with the mass users too. But is it a threat to the world?

When Google earth had just launched itself, as the virtual globe program, not many people knew about it and it did not become so popular. But now, that the website is gradually becoming more and more popular amongst the masses, fear is increasing too.

The Google earth is designed in such a manner that it is bringing the whole world alive on the the internet. The website recently launched its latest addition of the Disney land to the website. The threat that is surrounding this free face of world, is lack privacy. And there are enough reasons for the world to worry about it.

The rate at which terrorism has grown in the world is scary. People sitting in one part of the globe are able to execute destructive terrorist activities on another part of the world. And what do you think is supporting such activities. Websites like Google earth that are displaying each lane each corner along with other details to the world.

We do not say that what Google Earth is doing is unethical and wrong, but we can always demand a safer face of the location specific information that they provide. We are not averse to development, but we do not want development at the cost of our life.

Microsoft Yahoo Google Verbatim

Microsoft Corp is trying to leave no stone unturned for the yahoo deal and it seems that in coming few days online marketing would experience a sea change. The software giant has offered a higher takeover bid in front of Yahoo Inc, hoping to reach a friendly deal after weeks of speculations. But still the chances are no better than 50-50.

Microsoft upped its offer beyond the original value of $44.6 billion, or $31 per share. The New York Times reports that Microsoft boosted the offer by several dollars per share, lending weight to the assertion by many market analysts that Microsoft can afford to pay up to $35 a share.

Even as Microsoft and Yahoo were talking, Yahoo was also talking with Google about a broader search advertising partnership. Now latest buzz is that if talks with Microsoft collapse then Yahoo will probably follow through with a Google deal which promises a paradigm shift for the whole Internet marketing scene. In fact in may also change the search engine marketing models.

Now the Internet marketing world is waiting impatiently for the final outcome of the talks among the three global leaders in their own fields which are Microsoft, Yahoo and Google.

Which is a Better Couple: Micro-hoo or Yahoo-gle?

The internet Big Bs are on a run these days. They are busy trying to hook a partner for themselves for the big town hall ball.

It all seems like a love triangle to me. Or may be a fairy tale of the prince-princess and the bad man. Where unfortunately, Microsoft looks like the bad man. He tried to woo Yahoo into a love alliance with him, which the 'Lady' refused, and instead chose the handsome and wealthy prince as her partner to the town-hall Ball party.

Ok enough of that fairytale bit. But I was actually enjoying it as it seems no different from the tale. First it was Microsoft trying to team in Yahoo, which the later declined stating that MS was actually underrating it. (Underrating!!). Well I appreciate that the alliance did not take place, since, MS was hoping to destroy the leading search engine once it was in. the Micro-Yahoo team up would actually stand as a big danger to search engine marketing as a number of supporting websites like Flickr, Del-icio-us, would have come under the sword.

On the other hand the advertising campaign between Yahoo and Google seems to be a safer bid, where nothing seems to be so drastically destroying. But the fear of demolishing the existing power of search engine markting is what is worrying the world. After the Yahoogle thing, there might not be a top search engine and a following one. PPC will gain importance, and the organic search might just die a natural (an unnatural) death.

The Big Bs tell us that it is just a testing phase where they want to evaluate the success of the game. But they have not disclosed what is to be done if this test actually succeeds. Is Google really I mean REALLY going to team up with a rival and that too one who is lower in position. What's the gain?

Google Zeitgeist Reveals All and Sundry

Invariably the most-awaited report for online businesses world over, the Google Zeitgeist is a marketer's 'trends manual'. Released annually by search engine giant Google, this report gives a highly accurate and detailed insight into the world of search queries.

With the release of the 2007 edition of Google Zeitgeist, businesses now have a fair idea of what sells in the online marketplace. At least they now know what their niche audience is searching for.

As per the report, Apple's iPhone is the fastest-rising global search term. It is followed by online community Badoo and social networking website Facebook. As far as Google News is concerned, showbiz easily takes the cake for being the most searched-for industry. Terms like American Idol, YouTube, 2007 Cricket World Cup, Britney Spears, etc. have dominated search engines.

Surprisingly, unlike Yahoo, none of the top searches on Google are related to environmental issues. Quite a glaring omission indeed! Interestingly, Google Zeitgeist reveals that the search engine is 'philosophising' big time. Users have posted millions of search queries seeking answers to their questions. Guess Google has taken the journalistic principle of 'Five Ws and One H' a little too seriously!

Overall, it will not be wrong to say that the Google Zeitgeist report lives up to its name. It actually reveals the spirit of today's web users and the kind of issues that interest them. Marketers, it is time to give your prospects due respect.

Come to Rupizmedia, and Let's Get It Done.
