Your Traditional Television Box is About to Transform

The wonders of the web can now be viewed on your television. And all this is not too difficult, says the search engine giant – Yahoo.

The Internet marketing giant- Yahoo has always made efforts to create a revolution in the web industry. And this time, it is in the form of a new channel for your televisions. This new project announced by Yahoo promises to change the way you view television. The program aims at allowing viewers to customize their TV screens with a cover of Internet services including eBay listings, weather reports, financial news and Twitter updates too.

This Widget Channel is the result of a collaboration between Yahoo and technology manufacturer Intel. It is an effort that indicates a convergence between the two most advanced technologies in todays world- the television and the Internet.

Yahoo has attempted towards utilizing the popularity of the widgets for the purpose. While Yahoo is capitalizing the trend for this application, Intel is involved in the building of the hardware for the service.

This widget channel will soon be available in the US soon in the first half of next year.

Pitched as a way of "complementing and enhancing the traditional TV environment", the Widget Channel will be available in the US in the first half of next year.

This widget channel has already be come successful in gaining confidence from a number of web services including popular names like, Disney-ABC, Joost, CinemaNow, MTV, and the leading advertising firm Group M.

Though it seems like an great attempt by Intel and Yahoo, there still are analysts who are a little skeptical about the success of this revolutionary move. They argue on the point that this technique does not really solve the two-way issue as the television has no keyboard supplement.

The success of this tele-internet marketing technique will only succeed if it is capable of providing TV manufactures a source of added revenue. Well, that in deed is a valid point. But then we should not forget that even the sophisticated computers and Internet that we are enjoying today, had quite an inconvenient start.

Road Maps on your Mobiles Now

From paper to Internet and now on the mobiles. Our traditional road maps have had a long journey indeed.

Going to a place was quite a problem especially if you are new to the place. Either you are mis-guided by the locales or the local transports thug you with huge conveyance fare. Such problems shall not affect your movement in a city any longer. The leading landmark providing website in India routeguru.com that also give you the exact direction from one place to another has now launched its SMS services in india. Now getting route directions from one place to another is not a problem any longer.

All you need to do is write an SMS to the website's mobile service operator quoting your source location name and destination name and send it across. The route will soon flash on your screen at a very nominal cost. This latest technological invention does not leave you wandering and lost on the roads any longer. It is as convenient as having a guide walking with you throughout.

The fusion of mobiles and internet has taken an exciting turn. It often seems like an unusual merger of the two biggest technological tools. Looking at it from one angle it seems like a unison where one is supporting the other, whereas from the other side it seems like a tug-o-war between the two, where one is biting over the other's piece of cake.
